JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation (President and CEO, Toshiya Nakahara) is pleased to announce the following organizational change.

1. Details of Organizational Change

　　(1) Establishment (as of July 1, 2022)

　　　　CCS Project (JAPAN) Department

　　(2) Abolition (as of June 30, 2022)

　　　　Office for CCS Projects (JAPAN)

2. Background

In April 2021, we established "Sustainable Business Unit" to promote environment-friendly business as a growth business. And in April of this year, "Office for CCS Projects (JAPAN)" was established within the "Sustainable Business Unit" to study a domestic CCS (*) project to store CO₂ emitted from ENEOS Group refineries in suitable locations in Japan.

In addition, the ENEOS Group's carbon neutrality plan announced on May 13, 2022, calls for the launch of CCS projects by FY2030.

Under these circumstances, in order to further accelerate efforts toward the realization of this project, we have decided to strengthen our structure by establishing "CCS Project (JAPAN) Department" that consists of four groups by specialized fields.

In line with this change, "Office for CCS Projects (JAPAN)" will be abolished.

（*）Carbon dioxide Capture and Storage. A technology for capturing carbon dioxide emissions and injecting it underground for long-term storage.
