Block 15-2

Since the acquisition of Block 15-2 in 1992, the project has been one of NOEX's key projects. Operator and NOEX subsidiary JVPC has been involved in the ongoing exploration and development of the block, including the production of crude oil and natural gas. As we develop our business, we will stress coexistence with communities and society, actively promote social welfare activities and projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions (the Clean Development Mechanism [CDM] project), and make a major contribution toward better lives for Vietnamese.

Sophisticated Exploration Technologies and Production/Recovery Technologies

Rang Dong and Phuong Dong oil fields feature a fractured granite basement rock reservoir that is unique in the world. NOEX's fracture evaluation technology is highly valued and receiving worldwide recognition. We constantly aim to improve the productivity of these fields by applying advanced tools, including fracture evaluation and horizontal borehole drilling technologies. In 2013, the Vietnamese government granted an extension of our interest in the Rang Dong oil field (5 years) for the implementation of HCG-EOR.*

  • Technology for enhanced oil recovery that is based on injecting hydrocarbon gas into oil reservoirs.
