As a project operator in Vietnam, JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration is continuously implementing a variety of social contribution activities, including the provision of scholarships and donations for school building construction.
Construction of School Buildings
We provide support across Vietnam through donations of school buildings, upgrades of educational equipment and supplies, and other initiatives. In 2018, we supported the construction of a new building for Trieu Trung Junior High School in Quang Tri Province.

Educational Support
- Since 2006, we have been providing scholarships to students in need through the Ho Chi Minh Association for Education Promotion, a public institution working to improve education in Vietnam. In 2019, our scholarships were awarded to 40 deserving students.
- In 2011, PetroVietnam University was established by the national oil company, PetroVietnam, to develop human resources responsible for the future of the oil industry. We made a donation of US$100,000 for its inauguration, and we also accept students for our internship program annually and give them advice on their graduation theses.
Construction of Rehabilitation Facilities
Defoliants (dioxins) used during the Vietnam War have had cross-generational effects on the population in Vietnam. As a result, a considerable number of young people suffer from disabilities. To support their active participation in society, we have funded two rehabilitation facilities and provided them with equipment, furnishings and other forms of assistance.

In August 2014, we received an award of gratitude from the Vietnamese Association for the Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) in appreciation for our contributions.
An award ceremony called "Relieving Hands for the Pain of Dioxin" was broadcast throughout Vietnam on Vietnamese National TV.
Relationships at the Working Level
Officials of PetroVietnam University visited Rang dong oil field in Vietnam and Nakajo Oil and Gas Field in Japan. This enabled them to deepen their relationships with our staff as well and build their knowledge and experience.
